About the Program

Birdwatching or birding is a popular hobby for nature enthusiasts, and the name means exactly what it says:  going outside to enjoy watching birds. But birding isn't just about watching, it's also about listening and that's exactly what we will focus on for this birding experience!

You don’t need to be an avid birder to notice that birds make a wide variety of sounds. Some of these sounds are gentle and pleasant, while others can be abrupt and jarring. Bird sounds can be divided into two main categories: songs and calls. Learning to listen to birds takes patience and practice. It may seem an impossible task, but it’s not as difficult as you might think.

Come join Common Ground member and bird enthusiast Angie Holt for a morning of birding!
