Restore & Reconnect

“There is something magical about being in nature. You cannot put it in words, but you feel it deep within – it touches your spirit. Just a few minutes of being in nature makes us feel healed and restored. Nature gives us strength, drains away all negative energy and fills us to the brim with positive energy."

― Mukesh Mani

Forest bathing, or shinrin yoku, is a Japanese practice of taking in the forest’s atmosphere through all the senses. This practice is a potent, proven method for relieving stress, boosting mood and immunity, and fostering deeper bonds with nature. Our souls are simultaneously soothed and enlivened when we participate in and bear witness to nature's regenerative presence.

We come together to "bathe" in the healing vibrations of nature as a personal and community wellness practice.  In the same way that one would attend a yoga class, Forest Bathing is a practice for those who want to re-orient their nervous system to nature's pace and strengthen their connection to the "felt presence" of the living earth. This is a practice of simply being in nature and cultivating connection through our senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. Forest Bathing is like a bridge - by opening our senses, it bridges the gap between us and the natural world.

Indoors, we tend to use only two senses, our eyes and our ears. Outside is where all of our multi-sensory capacities awaken as we smell the flowers, taste the fresh air, notice at the changing colors of the trees, hear the birds singing and feel the breeze on our skin. Eco-mindfulness will support you in developing your curiosity, expand your senses and explore your interconnectedness with your living environment.

Within 5 min of being in nature your body and brain start to change...

The teachings, medicine and healing powers of nature are abundant, especially when we are able to engage with earth in mindful and reverent ways. As an extension of nature, your system is designed to be in alignment with the oscillating rhythms of flow, rest, rising, falling, growth, activity, and so on.

When you spend time in nature, you awaken your senses, noticing the sights, smells and sounds of nature.

"The frequency of the Earth's energy is the most healing of all frequencies... Attention is the principal means for accessing healing from nature. It functions as the interface or connecter between nature's energies and a person's need. By paying attention to an aspect of nature, for example the trunk of a willow tree, one becomes spontaneously synchronized with it so a change in one's energy can occur."
